Pastor Gail L. Hill is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She serves as Pastor of Family Church in Springfield, MA. Prior to accepting the pastorate at Family Church, Pastor Hill was a Springfield Police Officer; she currently serves as Co-Coordinator of the Community Chaplain’s Program of the Springfield Police Department. Pastor Hill is a graduate of Springfield Technical Community College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and a graduate of Springfield College where she has earned her Bachelors Degree in Human Services.
She is a graduate of the Hartford Seminary BMC Program, Hartford, CT where she received a Black Ministers Certificate. She also received Certificates of Completion of studies in the proclamation of the Christian gospel at the Regent’s Park College, Oxford University in Oxford, England and Church History in Athens, Greece, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Human Service Counseling for Marriage & Family from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Pastor Hill is a member of the Churches Covered and Connected in Covenant of which Archbishop Leroy Bailey, Jr. is the presiding Prelate. Since 2000, she has served as Chaplin of the Springfield Police Department. She currently serves on the Community Police Hearing Board for the Springfield Police Department and is a Para Facilitator for the Springfield School Department.
Pastor Hill is a past President of the Pastor’s Council of Springfield and is the first woman elected to serve in this capacity. Pastor Hill is the founder of GH Ministries, where she focuses on women entering the autumn of their lives which she affectionately calls “God’s Glorious Girls” SM . In addition to GH Ministries, Pastor Hill was a partner of Dunamis Café, a coffee house formerly located in Springfield, MA.
Pastor Hill demonstrates an active commitment to community service, which has afforded her such awards as the “Woman of Vision Award,” extended from The Elms College/SSJ Forward
Program, Chicopee, MA. She was awarded a Citation from the City of Springfield for Community Service. She is a recipient of the 2002 James Gettemy Award from the Hartford Seminary, Hartford, CT, in honor of her distinguished ministry service. She is honored and admired by many for her love, honesty, commitment and motivational charge to change. This embodies the vision given her by God in “Disciplining Ourselves to Win”; which through the preaching of God’s Word will build people, men, women, boys and
girls on a strong foundation in the Word of God. Thereby assuring families are developed as strong cornerstones with strong Christian values, building a strong Christian church.
Pastor Hill resides in Springfield, MA with her husband Freddie Hill; they are the proud parents of three sons, Terrell, Tracy and Todd, three daughter-in-laws, six beautiful granddaughters; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
